Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much does a fireworks display cost?

It depends on what exactly it is that you want, and to be perfectly honest, the sky is the limit when planning a fireworks show. But, it doesn’t have to be expensive. We can put on an impressive show that builds in intensity to a unbelievable 60 second finale starting at $2000.00.

How long will my fireworks display be?

We have found that the optimal length for a fireworks show is 5-10 minutes, and we try to design all of our shows to fit into that window. We can of course do a longer show… just ask us.

Do I need a permit to have a fireworks show?

Yes. It is the law in Alberta that all fireworks displays, regardless of whether they use family fireworks or professional fireworks, and regardless of who is shooting them, MUST obtain a permit prior to the event. Not to worry though, we will take care of this entire process for you.

How much lead time do I need to have a fireworks show?

You should allow for at least 4-6 weeks from the time you engage us to the date of your show. There are a lot of things that need to happen before you can have a fireworks show, including selecting a site and getting it approved, obtaining the necessary permits, designing/customizing the show (based on your feedback), and ordering the fireworks product.

What kind of site is required to shoot a fireworks show?

For our smaller shows, we need an area that is free of overhead obstacles, with at least 30m of clearance in each direction.

For large shows, you will need a site with at least a 100-300 meters between the area we will be shooting to fireworks to where the audience will be watching, with ample space behind the firing site for a “fall out zone”. Not sure? No problem! We can assist you with selecting an appropriate site.

I don’t live in Calgary. Can you still shoot my fireworks show?

Absolutely. A nominal travel allowance will be built into the fee for your show to accommodate this.

Can my show be canceled due to the weather or other factors?

Yes. But it is rare… we will only ever cancel a show if the safety of the public or property becomes a concern. This can be due to (but not limited to) high winds, dry conditions, or any event or condition that jeopardizes the safety of the audience, general public, or nearby property. We can still shoot your show if it is raining or snowing, however you may choose to postpone your show any time prior to us beginning our setup of your display.

What happens if my show is canceled?

We will work with you to arrange an alternate date to shoot your show… a few days to a few months down the road. Whatever works best for you.
